Nebraska - My Heartland
for Symphonic Chorus and Wind Symphony
A large work composed for the Omaha Symphonic Chorus and the Nebraska Wind Symphony. Premiered for Nebraska'a Sesquicentennial Celebration. In addition to writing for these two wonderful ensembles, this was a wonderful poetic collaboration with Veronica Torraca-Bragdon. (click photo to listen)
Tango del Momento
SATB, Piano, Bass, and Percussion
This exciting project involved setting Veronica Torraca-Bragdon's electric poem "Tango del Momento" to music. This one was so much fun to write, rehearse, and perform!
Annette
SSAATTBB
"Annette" remains one of my most cherished collaborations. This musical setting of Roger's Sonnet 1 was composed as a gift for Roger's and Annette's 25th wedding anniversary at Roger’s request. It was such a privilege to work with such beautiful poetry that reflects such a beautiful relationship. SSAA a cappella
This piece was arranged for SSAA for the Bel Canto ensemble of the Nebraska Choral Arts Society and was later performed by the Boston Children's Chorus. Since then, it has been a popular selection for many SSAA choirs.
